Learners who complete this course will receive 20 Hours of their log book hours.
The Safer Driver Course was design by Transport NSW to help learners how to reduce road risks. It is designed to establish safer driving practices for learner drivers under the age of 25. The program is designed to provoke group discussions about attitudes and behaviour which may lead to risk taking driver behaviour.
The Safer Driver Course is conducted by Approved Providers, Facilitators and Coaches.
The course is set up in two modules.
Module 1: Is face to face in a classroom setting with a Safer Driver Course Qualified Facilitator. This component is a group discussion set up with other learners. The learners gain an understanding about risks and how to manage them. It covers distances, speed management, gap selection & hazards. This section takes approximately 3 hours.
Module 2: This a practical component in a vehicle with a qualified driving instructor/Safer Driver Course Coach. The practical component allows the leaners to put in practice what they have learnt from the Module 1 session and learn more about low risk strategies when driving. This section takes approximately 2 hours
How Much Does The Course Cost? $140 This fee is set by Transport NSW.
To be eligibile to attend the Safer Driver Course you must be a learner under the age of 25 years, have completed 50 ACTUAL on-road logbook hours. This does not include hours accumulated through sctructured (3 for 1) through a qualified driving instructure.
